I have heard many people say that God is a God without need. That, He is a God who is not dependent on anyone or anything. This is true. God is sovereign! He does not need anything or anyone to exist, or to reign, or rule with all power and glory. But I have found that aside from all of this, God has a need. It is not a need that He depends on for his existence, but nonetheless, it’s need!
Before I got married or had children, I was, as I am now, completely able to take care of myself without the need of anyone. The existence of my life is true and will not cease if I am without them. (Even though it feels that it will cease without them) My existence, or who I am is not dependent on them. But as soon as I got married, and with the birth of each of my kids, grew a new compartment in my heart that only my wife and kids could fill. I now have a need in my life. The need is not a need of dependency but a need that if not filled, will bring me more pain than I could imagine!
When you were born again, inside of God’s heart grew a new compartment that only you could fill! I believe these compartments are called mansions. Jesus has gone to the Father and prepared mansions in the Father’s heart for each and everyone of us! You are very well know by the Father and all of heaven! God needs you to fill the space in His heart that He has made. You are His child and without your presence in His life, God feels the pain!
The father, in the story of the prodigal son, ran to his son when he returned! The father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. The father did not need his son to exist, but the father needed his son to fill the place in his heart that was causing him pain at his absence!
It is incredible to think that God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, has a place in his heart that only you can fill! God loves you and needs you! We often search this world looking for someone to love us with all they have and with all that they are. We look for someone to love us and never fail us. God the Father stands with His arms wide open to anyone who desires his love! If you have already accepted His love, know that you have an extremely special place in the heart of God! If you have not accepted this love from God yet, know that He is waiting for you with arms wide open. He wants you exactly as you are! Don’t change, just come!! God needs you!
